This is a very fun game to play and of course to make as well! You will be exploring how to use the mouse for user input by developing this game. Your player in the game is the little mouse, and the cat will be chasing it. The players objective is to make the mouse avoid the cat. Have fun!!!

Use of Mouse As an input Device

What is am input device? It is a device that can be used to provide user input to a computer system. You have learned to use the Keyboard Input device. Using this activity you will be exploring the Mouse as an input device!


In scratch, we can do this by using the mouse-pointer attribute. By using the script on the right, we can made the sprite to which this script is attached, to move towards the direction of the mouse pointer.

Also we will be exploring sprite movement in detail in this game. The cat will be made to follow the mouse continuously from the point of starting the game.


Collision Detection


Collision detection typically refers to the computational problem of detecting the intersection of two or more objects.

With regard to scratch, collision detection is the understanding of the intersection/collision of two or more objects. You will be exploring this concept in the development of this game (between the cat and the mouse)
